We arrived at the campsite for the night after climbing steep and narrow roads, although the views were breathtaking. It is literally on the side of a mountain, looking down into a gorge with the most beautiful lake I think I have ever seen. The view from the restaurant terrace is breath taking. But so is the almost vertical drop to down towards the lake.
We managed to bag a pitch that was fairly straightforward to park on as the site has quite tight turns onto some pitches. It is a terraced campsite, with very few level pitches and the one we were on was no exception. Our Pitch was quite lopsided as well, but as we are only staying the one night, we don’t bother with the levellers.
The reception and shop are adjacent to the restaurant and cafe bar, which is very large inside and out, with plenty of patio and terraced areas to make the most of the view. I would imagine they get very busy in the spring and summer, with day trippers as well as campers, as well as outdoor activity enthusiasts, as there are adverts for horse riding, paragliding, canoeing and rock climbing.
The prices are quite expensive, but I guess that’s the price to pay for being so isolated on the mountainside, and also the view and upkeep of this place.
My partner had the BBQ ribs and I ordered grilled chicken, which - on the menu - said it comes with vegetables and potatoes (I.e. chips). Once we ordered, the waiter (who speaks no English), brought us a plate of olives.
The plates of food soon arrived - but the plates were cold. A pet hate of mine, because you can almost guarantee your food will not be hot, and, call me old fashioned, but I like my food hot, (unless it’s a salad). Nothing worse than tepid food! Just ask Gordon Ramsey. These two huge plates arrived, accompanied on each plate by no more than twenty slivers (and I mean small slivers) of fried onion, peppers and courgette, and chips you could count on two hands. There was certainly more plate on view than food.
Thankfully, the waiter brought some bread rolls as well, and we ordered an extra portion of chips. The baguettes were crusty and warm, although we asked the waiter for butter - twice - which eventually arrived. There is definitely a laid back vibe over most of Spain and it’s population wherever you go. But I kind of like that.
The BBQ ribs were very tasty despite being just warm, and my chicken tasted lovely, and the crusty bread made up for the meagre portions of chips and vegetables. The chips could have been fried a little longer, as they were a tad white and limp, but lashings of balsamic helped. We finished up our main course and ordered a dessert to share. It was an ice cream version of a creme brûlée and arrived on another large plate with a plastic lid on. The dessert menu was like the ones you can get in an Indian restaurant. Everything prepacked and frozen solid, but it was quite tasty.
The Wi-fi is a bit hit and miss, and as I tried to watch TV on my iPad it kept freezing so I gave up and did some puzzles and read. My partner persevered and said it got better as it got later.
It was at this point, as I began to bed down that I first heard dogs barking in the not too distance. And once you heard them, you could not ‘unhear’ them. And it was not barking, but whining and howling. And it was like that pretty much for most of the night. There must be a dog kennels close by, because there were varying barks and yelps that could be heard. And the noise went on pretty much all night, waking me on several occasions.
The showers were old but perfectly fine, clean and plenty of hot water. All in all though, I think we will miss this campsite out in future. Or I will be worrying about the dogs again.

A quiet small site with very helpful staff who helped us when we needed a drill when erecting our privacy room for the first time. Very quiet apart from dogs barking all night, not on the site, but wondered if there was a kennels nearby. The view from the restaurant terrace is amazing, and the food excellent.

This is a delightful site with lovely views of the surrounding area from some pitches [pitches 85 motorhome size and 91 caravan size particularly recommended] Each pitch has a hedge and trees around it and is of reasonable size. The facilities are clean. There is a bus from the site entrance into Granada with a frequent service and a swimming pool and restaurant on site. The shop is well stocked even in November. The young staff in reception are very friendly and helpful. The only downside is that there are three or four dogs off site that bark all night and most of the day. Some English caravanners left the site earlier than intended as they could not cope with the barking. This is such a pity as in every other way this is the perfect site.

Friendly well run and quiet little campsite in a lovely location with great views of the Sierras or the valley below from many of the sites. Excellent clean facilities with warmed shower area, lots of hot water, and all spotlessly clean. Well maintained hedges and trees and grounds, and lots of birdsong!! Great for a visit to Granada or strenuous walking or biking or day trips up into the Sierras. Useful basic shop and full restaurant attached. Very good wifi. Highly recommended.

A most attractive site with lovely views of the Sierra Nevada. The pitches are a good size and separated by hedges. The facilities are good and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Credit cards are accepted. There are some pleasant walks in the vicinity. The bus to Granada stops right at the entrance to the site. We strongly recommend this site.
