Camping Municipal Camp 'Eure

Excellently located between the river and the Small Medieval City. Lovely walks along the river bank and the facilities of the town are close by which are dominated by what must be classed as a Cathedral if it was ever a City. In places you can see fortified walls from the camp site and as you walk the outskirts of the old quarter. Also what appears to have been a moat is visible in places. The lady in reception was very friendly and after my very basic French to start the conversation and enquire about a pitch she switched to English. Say's a lot for my French ! The pitches and surrounding area of the site was fairly well maintained. The only let down I guess is the sanitary block. The mens toilets I used were okay ( no seats ) The urinal's blocked on our second day. Two showers on the mens side one was a little slow and weak the other was like a power shower and very hot. Push button but you can turn it down. My wife was less impressed with the ladies side. One of the showers just provided water like a hose pipe no sprinkler rose. out and general cleanliness made it unable for her to use. The washing up facilities again were not clean and she did not wish to use them. The block itself could do with investment as has been stated by others. Some may wish yo use their own facilities as my wife did but I managed quite well. A good price a night with ACSI card. Access to the site from the north I would use ( as I was advised ) the left turn straight after the bridge at the traffic lights and go under the bridge. ( providing there is not a motor home or car with.a caravan waiting at the lights where you need to turn as the road is not that wide at that point. ) Foolishly I followed the Sat Nav right at the end of the bridge there is then another right turn with a Motorhome Water waste facility sign on it. This is a paved area and I missed it not thinking it was the correct turn. Tried to negotiate the next turn without success and had to reverse and on advise of locals went straight ahead past the Cathedral. Right again and then right and it brings you to the campsite. From the south , same options just switch my instructions to the other side.
